When he was eleven years old, he and his family moved to the city of Granada. In 1914 he entered Granada University to study Laws and Philosophy and Letters. He used to have social gatherings with his friends in "El Riconcillo". A few years later, he went with his friends to Madrid, where they lived for almost four years.
In 1921, Lorca came back to Granada, where he met Manuel de Falla. Their friendship made them start some music projects togheter.
During those years in Granada, he had two main cultural influences: Falla and "El Rinconcillo".
Nowadays, there's a park in Granada that was named after him. La Huerta de San Vicente, Lorca's family summer house is located there.
It is a beautiful park where sometimes there are theatre plays and poetry reading.

Fuente vaqueros
Fuente Vaqueros is Federico García Lorca's birth village. He was born the 5th of June of 1898 in a house located on a street that has been named after him. The two floor house with a beautiful backyard patio has been converted into a museum that displays the ambience and décor from the time of the poet’s birth. Enter the historic home, where a highly informed guide offers visits into Lorca’s early life. You can watch the poet’s crib, visit the attic and see first editions of his works, theater costumes from his plays, magazines and newspaper from his time, and written dedications from friends such as Salvador Dalí, Luis Buñuel, and Rafael Alberti.
Fuente Vaqueros is a lovely village with a lot of interesting places to visit, for example Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación Church, where Lorca had his christening. La Fuente de los Vaqueros is a monument for Lorca that was built in January of 1980. There's a theater called Federico García Lorca, where are flamenco shows, conferences, concerts, expositions and more. And, the Lorquian Studies Center is where Lorca's life and writtens are studied. It can be visited by anyone, but if you want to take a look at the books there, you have to show your ID card.

Valderrubio
Valderrubio is the village where Lorca and his siblings spend most of their childhood. There, you can visit La vega de Zujaira, where Lorca's father used to have a small farmhouse that, sadly is not there anymore. Federico really enjoyed going there to visit his father's family, and he wrote a lot there. Also, La Fuente de la Teja is a fountain where Federico used to go. It was a place of inspiration for him and nowadays it is a lovely place to go walking thruogh Valderrubio. The Church of Nuestra Señora de la Purificación, built in the XVI century, is one of the most emblematic places of Valderrubio. And finally, Lorca's family house, that's also a museum as the one in Fuente Vaqueros, is where they where they were raised.
